Our members work across diverse sectors such as mental health, education, academia, government, NGOs, and private practice. Many are also undergraduate and graduate students completing their studies in psychology.

All members adhere to the Society’s Constitution, Rules & By-Laws, and Code of Ethics and Conduct, ensuring a high standard of professional practice.

Membership Categories

The Society offers four categories of membership depending on the level of professional qualifications and training achieved. These are Full, Affiliate, Student and Friend of the Society.

Full Membership

Persons who possess at a minimum an accredited undergraduate degree in psychology as part of a three or four-year Bachelor’s level programme or and accredited primary degree in psychology from a recognised tertiary level institution.

Affiliate Membership

Persons with an accredited formal qualification with a major focus in psychology or counselling/related cognate science from a recognised tertiary institution but do not meet the requirements of a FULL member.

Student Membership

Persons who are currently enrolled (full-time or part-time) in a formal study programme with a major focus in psychology.

Friend of the Society Membership

Persons who may possess formal qualifications with a minor/elective focus in psychology and/ or studies and experience in other non-psychology related disciplines that do not satisfy the requirements for either Full or Affiliate membership. Anyone with enduring interest in the discipline of Psychology is encouraged to apply.
